Happy Lunar New Year!

We sure don’t mind all the celebrations. 2024 is especially exciting because we are moving forward with many new improvements this year.

My biggest reason for doing what we do everyday is our student families. They have supported me and the school through many difficult and challenging times. This year, we’ve added many new faces to our PTA group and have elected a new President.

I was so moved by the way everyone came together for our Christmas performance last year. At the comfort of our own campus and with hundreds of our supporters, we created new memories. Our PTA members and those who volunteered deserves all the credit for another successful event.

Our Hacienda Heights location continues to gain traction through word of mouth. Our staff is diligently providing the same quality program to the students in Hacienda Heights. We are also reaching out and recruiting parents there to establish a HH PTA group.

In 2024, our study abroad program will partner with a new university in Taipei, NTNU. They are well known for their Chinese program and for producing some of the best teachers for Taiwan and internationally. Our students this year will spend one whole month immersing in the rich culture and Chinese language environment, and good food.

Lastly, I want to emphasize our core value and mission. We see Chinese language learning as a life-long pursuit, much like planting a tree. The time and resources being poured out will one day yield its fruit when enough time has taken place. It is up to us to not only teach, but to encourage and foster this attitude of being a life-long learner.

開學了，孩子們陸續地回到了學校， 見到了許久沒有見面的同學，臉上露出了喜悅的笑容， 見到了老師：那一聲聲的 ”新年快樂 !”， 更是不絕於耳。

是的 ! 2024年是一個嶄新的一年: 踏進了2024 ，[ 僑心 ]已經進入了第35年。回想過去的 34年，我經歷了甜 丶酸丶苦丶辣，什麼滋味我都嚐過 ， 這些滋味讓我自己成長，更知道自己的使命在哪裡。[ 僑心 ] 能夠得以成長的另外一個主因是家長們在後面的推動和支持，[ 僑心 ] 是一個大家庭， 不但孩子們的凝聚力強，家長們的凝聚力更強， 每當學校有大活動時，家長們更是全家出動 ，把活動辦得有聲有色，看著孩子們的眼裡， 他們的凝聚力也跟著強大起來。 年紀較長的學生們，成了大哥哥丶大姐姐，這些大哥哥丶大姐姐就是小朋友學習的榜樣。

回顧2023年真是一個豐收的一年， 我們的哈崗分校至今已經成立了兩年，但是因著<哈崗>這一個地區有太多的課後班， 我告訴老師們，我們絕對不可以去拉別學校的學生，我們自己要建立好優良的學習的環境， 推出最好的課程以及聘請最優良的老師， 這些我們都作到了。 因此，經過家長們互相的推薦，我們在去年的暑期班也有超過40位小朋友的參與，開學之後的秋季班也進來了近30位小朋友。 在此更要值得一提的是，我們也為哈崗分校購置了一輛12人座的VAN。

值得再向家長一提的是， 2023年7月我帶領十七位小朋友到台灣的[ 世新大學 ]做為期一個月的[ Study Abroad ]中文學習。在國外學中文，那真的不是一件容易的事， 但是我們的孩子無論在課堂上或是外出參訪， 都有極佳的成績，獲得師長們的一致好評! 今年2024年我們將去台灣最有名的 [ 國立師範大學- 國語中心 ]做為期一個月的中文學習， 去年我們的孩子已經到這所大學參觀過，並且已經和國語中心的主任以及師大的孫老師為我們的孩子，擬定了一個新的方案， 我們將於近期召開一個 [ Study Abroad ]會議，向家長做詳細的說明。 有許多校外的校長及老師們都說[ Study Abroad ]是僑心的一個亮點，所以我們一直會將這個計劃持續下去，讓我們孩子的視野更加廣闊。

[ 僑心 ]的[ 家長委員會PTA ] 主要的任務是: 協助校務的推展以及協助學校處理重大偶發事件及有關學校、教師、學生及家長間之爭議 。[ PTA ] 的另外一項重大的任務就是為學校籌款。每一年 [ PTA ] 籌款的方式都不一樣， 有校內活動，例如 Open House 以及Christmas Party 時，家長及親友們都熱烈響應，更有海外的企業所給與的贊助，讓我們非常的感激。 在此值得一提的是我們有部分的捐款是來自已經畢業，而且在社會上做事的校友們， 他們時時想念著他們的母校[ 僑心 ]。

本校教育宗旨:  [ 僑心 ] 這十年樹木，百年樹人的精神，教導中國以文，並且極力灌輸中華文化以及固有美德，以至培養學生建立優良之教育品格。
